Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Hong Kong has established its Wan Chai showroom as a destination for exclusive client experiences since unveiling the marque's new visual identity in 2023. Designed as a client-oriented, multi-sensory environment inspired by the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood, the space provides a platform for curated experiences celebrating craftsmanship, artistry and personal commission.
Continuing this commitment, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Hong Kong yesterday welcomed the first Hong Kong presentation of the iconic Boat Tail timepieces, showcased alongside Rolls-Royce motor car masterpieces and Swiss watchmaker BOVET's latest 2026 creations. Celebrating a shared dedication to Bespoke craftsmanship and the art of individual commission, the exhibition centres on the Boat Tail timepieces, created as an integral part of the unique Rolls-Royce Boat Tail and representing one of the most memorable collaborations across the luxury automotive and horological worlds.
The showcase offers guests a rare opportunity to discover one of the most significant Bespoke commissions ever created, further reinforcing the showroom as a setting where exceptional craftsmanship, creativity and personal stories come together.
BESPOKE IS ROLLS-ROYCE
Rolls-Royce's coachbuilt masterpiece Boat Tail represents far more than a technical achievement. It represents a collaborative exploration of luxury, design and culture between the marque and commissioning clients.
Regarded as a defining moment in the modern revival of Rolls-Royce Coachbuild, Boat Tail demonstrates the marque's ability to translate a client's vision into an extraordinary motor car through close collaboration between designers, engineers and craftspeople. One of only three examples created worldwide, it stands among the most ambitious Bespoke commissions in Rolls-Royce history.
At Rolls-Royce, Bespoke is the marque's defining expression of luxury, enabling clients to commission motor cars that reflect their lifestyles, passions and personal stories. From handcrafted details and unique design features to landmark Coachbuild commissions such as Sweptail, Boat Tail and Droptail, every project is shaped around the vision of its patron.
Created alongside the first Boat Tail motor car, the accompanying timepieces extend this philosophy beyond the motor car itself, forming a seamless expression of the owner's passions across both luxury automotive and horological worlds.
CREATED FOR ONE PATRON, ONE MOTOR CAR
Conceived for a discerning collector of both Rolls-Royce motor cars and BOVET timepieces, the commission set out to create a pair of one-of-one timepieces for a couple and their Rolls-Royce Boat Tail. Developed in parallel with the first Coachbuild Boat Tail, the matching lady's and gentleman's timepieces are housed within BOVET 1822's patented Amadéo® convertible case. They can be mounted within Boat Tail's fascia, serving as the motor car's own dashboard clock. This ingenious design also enables the timepieces to be worn on the wrist or displayed as a table clock, pendant or pocket watch. Both are equipped with tourbillon movements, combining exceptional technical sophistication with extraordinary versatility.
A CELEBRATION OF PERSONAL COMMISSION
Beyond their technical achievements, the Boat Tail timepieces reflect the transformative potential of personal commission, realised through the collaboration of collector, designer, engineer and artisan.
The presentation in Hong Kong reflects Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Hong Kong's commitment to creating meaningful client experiences, celebrating the creativity, craftsmanship and individuality that define the world's most exceptional commissions.
