This weekend, the Porsche ARBox Carrera Cup Asia returns to Malaysia for a high-intensity home race at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit. Team Porsche Malaysia and Malaysian driver Naquib Azlan will take on three races from 21 to 23 August. The weekend also brings the finale of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2026 and the Malaysian launch of the new all-electric Cayenne, bringing Porsche motorsport heritage and the marque’s innovative future together for one thrilling weekend at Sepang.
Sepang. The sound of flat-six engines will once again echo across the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit as the Porsche ARBox Carrera Cup Asia returns to Malaysia. From 21 to 23 August, Porsche Malaysia, represented by Sime Darby Auto Performance (Auto Performance), welcomes the championship to its home circuit for a thrilling triple-header weekend consisting Rounds 9, 10 and 11 of the 2026 season.
Following competitive rounds in Shanghai, Zhuhai, Fuji and Bangsaen, the Championship arrives at Sepang for its most demanding stop of the season. Drivers will tackle three races across a single weekend, comprising two sprint races and the series' only endurance race, on the iconic 5.543-kilometre circuit.
Renowned for its intense heat and humidity, Sepang places extraordinary physical and mental demands on drivers, with cockpit temperatures often soaring past 40 degrees Celsius during competition. The challenge is further heightened by unpredictable tropical weather, where sudden downpours can rapidly transform track conditions, testing grip, visibility and decision-making at every turn.
Now in its 23rd season, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia remains the region's premier one-make racing championship, bringing together some of Asia's most talented drivers in identical Porsche 911 Cup (992.2) race cars.

Fielding Malaysian talent on track
For Team Porsche Malaysia, the Sepang race weekend marks another chapter in its first full-season campaign with Naquib Azlan. Racing under car number 17 in the PRO category, the Malaysian driver has made the transition from sim racing to the region’s premier one-make series after winning the Driven Dreamers category of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2025 and later progressing through the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Talent Pool programme.
His campaign with Team Porsche Malaysia has already delivered multiple pole positions, fastest lap time records and even a podium at Fuji International Speedway, where Azlan finished second after starting from pole position, another milestone in a journey that began in the virtual arena.
Representing the home team, Azlan will be aiming to make his mark with a positive result in Sepang, with support from the local fans and aspiring sim racers.

Porsche Malaysia has played an active role in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia for many years through its support of customer racing initiatives and the development of local motorsport talent.
As part of the Sepang race weekend, visitors will have the opportunity to explore Porsche's strong motorsport heritage through displays featuring historic 911 Cup race cars that previously competed in Porsche Carrera Cup Asia. Each car tells the story of a particular season, reflecting both the evolution of Porsche's customer racing programme and Porsche Malaysia's longstanding commitment to motorsport in the region.
Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge 2026
As the on-track action unfolds in Sepang, the excitement continues in the virtual world with the final stage of the Porsche Esports Sprint Challenge Malaysia 2026.
Competing across the Junior Dreamers, Young Dreamers, Driven Dreamers and Female Dreamers categories, the top 10 racers from each division will compete on the virtual PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit.
Inspired by the Porsche ARbox Carrera Cup Asia race format, participants will race in identical Porsche 911 Cup (992.2) cars on the same circuits featured throughout the championship season, reinforcing the close relationship between virtual and real-world competition.
From the racetrack to the road
For 75 years, Porsche has used motorsport to develop and refine its sports cars. New technologies and insights proven on the racetrack continue to find their way into road-going models.
Coinciding with the Porsche ARBox Carrera Cup Asia race weekend at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, Porsche Malaysia announces the arrival of the new Cayenne Electric, the second fully electric SUV in the Porsche model range in Malaysia.
The new Cayenne Electric combines high performance with everyday usability. With a WLTP range of up to 642 kilometres and ultra-fast DC charging at up to 400 kW, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in under 16 minutes under optimal conditions. Its 800-volt architecture, 600 kW recuperation, oil-cooled performance electric drive system and advanced thermal management enable both high charging performance and consistent power delivery.
The technologies are derived from Porsche's participation in Formula E, another premiere class of racing used a development platform for E-mobility. In 2026, Porsche underlined this expertise once again by winning both the Formula E Drivers' World Championship and the Manufacturers' Championship.
At the same time, Porsche Active Ride suspension and active aerodynamics contribute to the balance between driving dynamics, whether on daily journeys, long-distance road trips or spirited driving sessions.
At the top of the range, the new Cayenne Turbo Electric delivers up to 850 kW (1,156 PS) with Launch Control. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and reaches a top speed of 260 km/h, making it the most powerful production Porsche to date.
